Projects

Each year, research areas, potential mentors, and projects for SRIP students are listed on the Summer Research Internship Program Research Areas Page. Read MCRI's Year in Review for a snapshot of the activities, people and resources at our institution that contribute to program success. Visit the 2023 SRIP Research Symposium to see interns' final projects.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites

SRIP is open to full- or part-time continuing college or university undergraduate and graduate students, including graduating seniors who have applied to graduate/medical/dental school. Students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale).

Student classification (i.e., credits completed) plays a part in the application process, since projects require applicants to have a certain classification. For example, an applicant is considered a junior if he/she will have completed all sophomore credits by the time the internship begins and will be entering at least the junior year following completion of the internship. Please see the project descriptions to see what classification is needed for each project.

F-1 international students are eligible if currently attending a college or university within the U.S., and holding or can hold (for the purposes of the internship) a valid Employee Authorization Document (EAD).
