CITI Training on human subject protection issues must be completed prior to Institutional Review Board (IRB) review of research involving human subjects, including private health information. While completing the CITI Training prior to IRB review is a requirement, it is recommended that the CITI Training be completed even prior to the proposal design phase since it will help you to consider human subject protection issues during proposal development. CITI Training will also help you to complete your application to the IRB and alert you to human subject protection issues that may arise as you conduct your study. Investigators are encouraged to consult with the IRB Administrator regarding any concerns on design questions related to any of these protection issues.
