Trevor J. Durbin is a cultural anthropologist and assistant professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Kansas State University. He has conducted field research in Samoa and the Cook Islands where he studied the impacts of scandal on nation making and biodiversity conservation. More recently, he conducted fieldwork in North America (including South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho) where he used ethnographic methods to better understand the impacts of beetle kill on forest industry safety from the perspective of workers themselves.
