About this seminar: Dr. Andrey Ptitsyn has over two decades of experience in building the infrastructure, services, and research programs in Computational Bioscience. Andrey Ptitsyn is a computational generalist with a special interest in collaborative interdisciplinary research. He graduated from the Novosibirsk State University in Russia with a Masters of Science degree in Mathematical Biology. In 1997, he joined the University of Western Cape in South Africa and successfully graduated with a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics in 2001. Dr. Ptitsyn played a leading role in the development of the Bioinformatics Infrastructure and Research in Siberia, in South Africa, Louisiana, Colorado, and more recently for Sidra Medical and Research Center and the National Genome Program in Qatar. His research interests include Computational Genomics, Functional Genomics, Systems Biology, Chronobiology, and Metagenomics.
