Statement
Leilla's passion as an Application Analyst Specialist lies in helping research personnel meet their needs with databases, specifically REDCap, and to make the research process smoother and more effective. When Leila consult with researchers, she carefully analyze their workflow, investigating their needs and often uncovering the less efficient assumptions that have been handed over to them by personnel less familiar with REDCap functionality. Leila enjoy this role because it allows her to be a cheerleader for nearly every research project across Marshfield Clinic Research Institute (MCRI) and allows me to contribute to the REDCap community in turn.
Leila joined MCRI in 2016 as a Medical Assistant. Before long, my interpersonal and analytical skills led me to my current role, and within a matter of years Leila went from a basic familiarity with REDCap to 2020 REDCap Consortium MVP. During the early months of the pandemic, our department pivoted to remote work, and I helped us meet the challenge by developing a REDCap support work group. Within a couple years this work group’s showcase was formalized into yearly REDCap Day at MCRI, where internal and external speakers would come to talk about the application’s versatility and strength as applied to research. Our collective use of the program today is versatile, allowing us to innovate operations that pave the way for other institutions. Leila has been attending REDCapCon since 2016 and presenting every year since 2017, showcasing the clinical and research processes we’ve developed and sharing the way we test the program’s limits.
