Statement


Ms. Salzman Scott is a life science research and management professional experienced with conducting and analyzing basic science and translational research; evaluating innovations for technical merit and commercialization potential; administrative and project management; scientific writing and publishing. Sherry earned a Master's degree in biotechnology, an interdisciplinary science and business management degree, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

In her current role as Senior Editor, Sherry directs the editorial and publishing operations for Clinical Medicine & Research, a peer-reviewed, internationally-indexed medical research journal. Her responsibilities include evaluating submitted research articles for technical and publication merit; overseeing peer review of submitted articles by subject-matter experts; managing intellectual property of the journal including overseeing transfer of copyright, review requests and grant permissions for reuse of copyrighted material; developing, negotiating and managing annual operating budgets; initiating, negotiating and managing contracts for editorial and publishing services; establishing and overseeing implementation of editorial policies and procedures, workflows and timelines; overseeing publication of journal both online and in print; hiring and supervising personnel.

Prior to joining the journal, Sherry conducted basic science research investigating the molecular and genetic basis of human diseases. Her research interests included the molecular basis of cancer and development of therapeutic vaccines.
