About this seminar: Dr. Sanjay K. Shukla is a Senior Research Scientist in the Center for Precision Medicine Research. Dr. Shukla received his PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK. He uses genetic, molecular, and bioinformatics tools to investigate the molecular pathophysiology of diseases. He is nationally and internationally known for his research on staphylococcal diseases and exploring microbiomics to understand chronic diseases such as multiple sclerosis, type 2 diabetes, and Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters and symposium abstracts. He has been invited to speak at numerous international conferences including NIH-sponsored meetings, Cold Spring Harbor and Gordon Conferences. The central aim of his research is to gain insights into human-microbe interactions that will aid clinical treatment of infections and complex diseases.
