Marc K. Drezner, MD has served as Director of the UW Institute for Clinical and Translational Research and PI of the NIH Clinical and Translational Science Award since 2007.  He is Professor of Medicine and Senior Associate Dean for Clinical and Translational Research in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. He has been NIH grant funded continuously for 39 years and is internationally known for scientific work in bone and mineral metabolism.  He has made seminal contributions to knowledge regarding many genetic diseases and brought new perspective to the management of postmenopausal osteoporosis. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers, 50 chapters in leading Textbooks of Medicine and Endocrinology, and numerous editorials.  He has served a term as Editor of the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research and been elected  to the ASCI and AAP honorary societies.  At UW he currently is a member of the advisory boards for the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center and the Waismann Center.
